Mara Lonner

Mara Lonner was born in Los Angeles, California, and currently lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She works with a variety of mediums and genres to blur the conventional distinction between organic and geometric worlds. Recent work interweaves ruins, architectural ornaments, and botanical forms, focusing the subjects on loss, extinction, feminism, and the beautiful tenacity of nature. Her work has been widely exhibited and has received numerous grants, residencies, and public and private commissions. She received her BFA and MFA from the California Institute for the Arts and taught at the University of California, Irvine.
