Glass has acted in my practice as a lens for self-study and the study of the structures that we live inside, occupy and use within technology. I make drawings upon and in relation to manipulated glass surfaces, with gestural motifs sourced from years of glassy references, to create geologies of folding congestion and clearing. My work offers glass a perceptual relationship to the body, where it can live not as a singular framing device like a window, mirror or screen, but rather as a way to look through, at, in, on and with oneself. This multi-prepositional way of experiencing is meant to solicit embodied engagement with our own lenses.
