Using collage, paint, and found materials such as vintage maps, I make two-dimensional abstract landscapes on paper. My process involves layering, tearing, cutting and rearranging. The pieces are created through accumulation and response, much the way landscapes actually form. The work comes out of a desire for reorientation. Through my art I recalibrate, and find footing as the world keeps radically changing. My abstract landscapes document internal transitions, navigation of uncertainty and learning to trust an evolving sense of direction. Each artwork is a record of moving through growth and transformation.
