Madeleine Matsson is a Swedish-American painter with an MFA in painting from New York Studio School. She has exhibited widely in the US and internationally, most recently with a solo show in Manhattan in spring 2025 exploring the tensions between motherhood and artistic practice. After 13 years in New York City, she now lives in the woods of Sweden, deepening her plein air practice and studying both the landscape and the region’s extensive logging industry.
